Facilities

The company currently has three fully equipped operating sites, one analytical laboratory, research facilities and offices, and a team of over 20 qualified professionals. Fully equipped facilities provide quality service to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, research centres and hospitals, local and from abroad.

Our services cover from the start of the preclinical phase to the regulatory approval. Including proof of concept, efficacy and safety studies, regulatory toxicology studies, biocompatibility, testing medical device, validation of medical device, stem cell and tissue regeneration studies, and others all adapted to the needs of the project.

We can cover all the therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, abdominal, respiratory, ophthalmology, dermatology, urology, neurology, dental and neonatal.

Surgery rooms

Specipig has two fully equipped operating rooms one of these with the capacity to run two surgeries at a time.

The operating rooms are equipped with:

Housing facilities

With an extension of 3 ha, of which 2.400 square meter of buildings including the housing, breeding and office buildings. With a housing capacity for more than 300 animals.

ICU Preterm / Neonate facilities

Specipig has opened a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at its research facilities. The new NICU is equipped with specific equipment, such as incubators, dosing pumps, temperature and oxygen control systems. Specipig is also expertise in new-born, preterm and maternity related research preclinical studies with adapted facilities for these projects.

Breeding facilities

Specipig breeds its own Specipig® miniature pig genetic line in its Barcelona facilities.

The breeding centre and facilities follow EU requirements with positive pressure, forced ventilation and temperature, humidity and pressure regular monitoring.
