Maria Àngels Rial
She is the founder and manager of the Semen Cardona business group, which specialises in multigenetic artificial insemination of swine and is present in Europe, South America and Asia. She began her professional path creating the first swine genetics laboratory in Spain in 1984. Her career and entrepreneurial vision has garnered Rial numerous awards for innovation and business management.
He holds a degree Telecommunications Engineering from Ramon Llull University (La Salle) and in PDD from IESE Business School. Since 2000, Amat has been directly involved in setting up several different companies in the biotechnology and biomedicine arena. He has been on the board of directors for the CataloniaBio association of companies since 2014.
Director of Animal Healthcare and ProductionL
He earned a degree in Biology from the University of Barcelona and later went on to finish his training in molecular biology at the University of Minnesota. Barrera has been technical director at Semen Cardona since 1998. After more than 20 years working with swine, he has become a world-renowned expert in swine reproduction and animal healthcare and production. He has given numerous courses in Europe and the United States.
He holds a PhD in Medicine and an MSc in Animal Welfare from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is head of the Experimental Tuberculosis Unit and head of the animal facilities at the Health Sciences Research Institute of the Germans Trias i Pujol Foundation. Cardona co-founded biopharmaceutical company Archivel Farma and biotechnology firm Manremyc. He has devoted his career to tuberculosis research for the past 15 years.
Director of Quality Assurance
She holds a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona and has specialised in implementing Quality Assurance Systems in biomedical companies. She is the technical director at Archivel Farma and co-director of the postgraduate programme in Quality Systems for the Pharmaceutical Industry and Pharmaceutical Research at the University of Barcelona.
